Where it all began...
Our History
The organization was established in Mogadishu on 11th January
2003 by Somali intellectuals who live in abroad and within the country. ORDO is currently operating
in South Central Somalia, Kenya and Puntland.
ORDO is non-governmental, non-Political and non profit organization with the aim of supporting the Somali people in general and the vulnerable
groups such as women, children and elderly people mainly those who suffered the long years of
conflict and the cruel environment that made almost every person in every community vulnerable.
Our Mission
ORDO addresses the root causes of poverty and suffering through income generating schemes, capacity building, peace building, promoting social services, food security, Human rights and advocacy and partnership with the aim of empowering women & vulnerable, disadvantaged and marginalized people to participate effectively in achieving livelihood security and realizing their rights to live with dignity and self-respect

ORDO desires to improve living standard of vulnerable groups so as to make a positive impact on
the lives of communities, thus enabling them to harness the available resources and rediscover their
